Samsung has slashed the price of the Galaxy S24 in a big new promotion

After Apple launched a new discount offer this week, Samsung joined in with a big sale of its own.

Samsung has been making a lot of deals this year as it tries to get more people into its ecosystem. Whether it’s giving away free Galaxy phones with TV purchases or giving away free Galaxy S24 storage upgrades. But the latest sale, which covers almost every phone it’s released this year, is the biggest yet.

The discount ranges between 22% and 38% on select Galaxy phones and runs until June 4. The catch is that the promotion only applies to UK shoppers. If you’re shopping in the US, Samsung’s free storage upgrade offer is live right now, along with some increased trade-in prices.

Currently, Samsung has discounted the following devices.

  • Samsung Galaxy S24 |from £799 ($1018.09) to £499 ($635.83) (37% off)
  • Samsung Galaxy S24+ |from £999 ($1,272.92) to £699 ($890.67) (30% off)
  • Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra | from £1,249 ($1,591.47) to £949 ($1,209.21) (24% off)
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 |from £1,749 ($2,228.57) to £1,349 ($1,718.89) (22% off)
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 | from £1,049 ($1,336.63) to £649 ($826.96) (38% off)
  • Samsung Galaxy A55 |from £439 ($559.37) to £289 ($368.24) (34% off)
  • Samsung Galaxy A35 |from £339 ($431.95) to £239 ($304.53) (29% off)
  • Samsung Galaxy A25 | from £249 ($317.28) to £169 ($215.34) (32% off)

These are huge discounts, especially for the Galaxy S24 phones, which only launched in January. Smartphone manufacturers tend to clear out existing inventory to make room for a new phone. With Samsung gearing up for its Galaxy Unpacked summer event in Paris on July 10, where it’s likely to release the Galaxy Z Fold 6, that could explain these sudden, deep price cuts.

Samsung’s US store has also kicked off its summer sale with some increased replacement prices, which seems to be a trendy way for manufacturers to drive sales. The Korean company is offering up to $500 cash back and a straight $200 discount when you buy the Galaxy Z Flip 5. There’s a $500 rebate on the Z Fold 5 that’s been paired with up to $800 in trade-in vouchers.

Samsung is still running a double storage offer for the Galaxy S24 series with up to $750 in credit to trade in your old device (up to $600 on Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus purchases, or $750 on Ultra purchases).

There are also improved trade-in prices for the Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic, knocking a maximum of $200 and $250 off the final price. But act fast if you’ve had your eye on a smartwatch, because when I added both phones to my cart, Samsung said they were out of stock. For the Buds Pro, the final price has been reduced by $60, with an additional $50 if you have any old headphones to pass on. But with Samsung possibly releasing the Buds Pro 3 soon, that price is likely to drop again, and drastically.

Are these deals worth it?

There are a few other factors to consider before you pull the trigger on one of these offers. First, which phones have the new Samsung Galaxy AI toolkit? Only the A series (A55, A35, A25) does not have the latest AI software from the Korean company. This may or may not change in the future as Samsung has been adding select AI features to older Galaxy phones in recent months. But the company remains tight-lipped about its plans for now.

I find the Galaxy S24 deals the most impressive, not least if you have an older phone to trade in, which can knock up to £395 off the final price. The Samsung Shop app also has a long-term 5% discount for all first-time buyers if you use the code “APP5”.

It’s also worth noting that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is coming out this summer, so if you want the latest version of Samsung’s foldable phone, hold on. The company will almost certainly introduce a pre-order alongside the device – so stay tuned.
